Three Dog Night

Three Dog Night, formed in 1967 as Redwood, was one of the biggest bands in the world from the late 1960s to the mid-'70s. They racked up 12 gold albums and 21 consecutive Billboard hit singles, seven of which went gold. Three went to the top: "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World" (Billboard's No. 1 hit of 1971) and "Black and White." Other hits included "One," "Easy to Be Hard," "Out in the Country," "Liar," "Shambala," "An Old Fashioned Love Song," "Never Been to Spain" and "The Show Must Go On." Danny Hutton, one of the band's three original lead singers, and guitarist Michael Allsup, who joined very early on, carry the band's legacy as it closes in on five decades of performing.
