2018 Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition

Special Event

The Mondavi Center Young Artists Competition, now in its 14th year, supports young artists in the early stages of their careers, providing scholarships to further their musical studies as well as valuable performance opportunities to encourage their artistic growth. This year the competition features the Founders Prize in Vocals to U.S.-residents ages 1822, and the Young Artists Prize to California-resident pianists and instrumentalists ages 1217. The weekend-long finals celebration includes three events: The All-Stars Concert April 27, featuring YAC alumni in a mixed-repertoire program; The Competition Finals April 28, where talented young musicians from across the country take the stage with their best repertoire before an esteemed panel of judges, competing for cash prizes and a spot in the Young Artists Competition Winners Concert; and the Winners Concert April 29, as Lara Downes hosts the celebratory concert featuring the winners of the competition.
